James Gooding; State

For Florence Art, London

Photographer James Gooding spent a year and a half touring the USA, shooting a collection of still life images which catalogue the desolate loss of character and identity in America's environment and landscape.

London art gallery Florence Art, commissioned us to design and build the exhibition space for James's touring exhibition of these images, 'State'. The perfect location to showcase these photographs was found deep beneath the river Lagan in Belfast. The Lagan Weir's underground structure is an atmospheric concrete-walled labyrinth with 4 second echoes and a constant temperature of 1°C.
