Against Violent Extremism
For Google Ideas, New York
We created a platform that is used to foster new ideas, encourage collaborations between former activists and allow members of the network to communicate their ideas.
Partnering with Google Ideas we created a network of former violent extremists, survivors of violence, government officials, activists, and academics to actively work to de-radicalize/ de-militarize actively violent youth and intervene with those at risk for violent extremism.
Our challenge was to build a website that would help attract new members to this network, help members connect to each other easily and equip members with tools and resources to carry out their work. The website was also required to act as a central repository for information about the network to outsiders / media.
The campaign is built on top of the Google+ framework and runs on the rehabstudio campaign platform which was ported to Python allowing us to run the application on the Google App server.
